Hotel du Vin Birmingham
The Birmingham HdV is the largest hotel in the collection and is located in the old part of city, on the site of the renovated Birmingham Eye Hospital. It includes a spa and a gym.
Eat: Dogs are allowed in all the public areas, with the exception of the restaurant (Bistro du Vin). The bar, the Bubble Lounge, is decorated in the style of a the Bubble Lounge at Venice's classic Café Florin. The menu from the Bistro can be served here (and your dog can be with you), including at breakfast. Food in the bistro is again exactly what you expect from a modern interpretation of French bistro food, all made to a consistently high standard with a wine list to match the hotel’s name. Better sommeliers than you’d expect at this standard of hotel are also a nice feature. There is a Pub du Vin downstairs in the old cellar bar, which does exactly what it says and serves up classic pub dining. Dogs are welcome here as well. Room service is also available.
Sleep: All Hotel du Vin bedrooms are dog friendly and all deliver on the classic HdV promise, that the least you should expect from a good hotel is a bloody comfortable bed and a cracking shower. The best of the rooms here are immense.
Walk: Well, this is a city centre hotel, so you can't expect too much more than a city walk, local park or a walk round some excellent shops. But there are also some good canal walks and the Jewellery Quarter is worth exploring.
